About this ebook

In the final novel in #1 New York Times bestselling author Jim Butcher's acclaimed Codex Alera series, the people of Alera—who use their unique bond with the elementals of earth, air, fire, water, wood, and metal for protection—must face the ultimate conflict…

For Gaius Octavian, life has been one long struggle. Battling ancient enemies, forging new alliances, and confronting the corruption within his own land, he became a legendary man of war and leader of men—and the rightful First Lord of Alera.

Now, the end of all he fought for is close at hand. The brutal, dreaded Vord are on the march, using fear and chaos to turn the Alerans against one another, and forcing those who will not submit to flee to the outer reaches of the realm.

Perhaps for the final time, Gaius Octavian and his legions must stand against the enemies of his people. And it will take all his intelligence, ingenuity, and furycraft to save their world from eternal darkness...

I read the entire series in less then a week. If that gives you any idea how great this series was lol. I totally adored the main character Tavi, but really it was the 3 woman in his life. Kitai, his gf/wife, Amara his friend who married his uncle and of course his mother, Isana. All 3 very strong woman in every sense of the word! Physically, emotionally and the purest heart's. I especially loved Kitai, with all her bold words ect. You really need to read this entire series!

I highly recommend this series to anyone who might enjoy a fantasy series that has been grounded in reality. I will miss reading it.

If I come across a book and Jim Butcher is the author then I will be reading it. I loved everything about this book, well pretty much the entire series. The ancient Romanesque influences with an unusual system of magic or usage of power. People love cheering for an underdog. Even more so when they have a glimpse into their potential.

About the author

A martial arts enthusiast whose résumé includes a long list of skills rendered obsolete at least two hundred years ago, #1 New York Times bestselling author Jim Butcher turned to writing as a career because anything else probably would have driven him insane. He lives mostly inside his own head so that he can write down the conversation of his imaginary friends, but his head can generally be found in Independence, Missouri. Jim is the author of the Dresden Files, the Codex Alera novels, and the Cinder Spires series, which began with The Aeronaut’s Windlass.
