My read time for this was 3h and 26m, but it is a book meant for middle-school aged children, maybe early high school. I've read some of this series as a kid, but I got distracted with other books at the time and so now that I'm in the mood for some nostalgia, I'm soo happy I chose to restart this amazing series. Charlie has to deal with so much in this book, from finding out about these powers of his to a plot that he's quite literally thrown into in a matter of a week! It was nice to see what an amazing support system he managed to create in such a short amount of time and how well-written the characters are. From lovable characters like Gabriel Silk, pitiful characters like Billy Raven and even the villains like Manfred Bloor! Even the world building is nice, short, and sweet compared to some of the more complex series that I read now that I'm older. Can't wait to continue in the next book!
