About this ebook

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout comes book three in her beloved Flesh and Fire series…

The only thing that can save the realms now is the one thing more powerful than the Fates.

After a startling betrayal ends with both Sera and the dangerously seductive ruler of the Shadowlands she has fallen madly in love with being held captive by the false King of the Gods, there is only one thing that can free Nyktos and prevent the forces of the Shadowlands from invading Dalos and igniting a War of Primals.

Convincing Kolis won’t be easy, though – not even with a lifetime of training. While his most favored Revenant is insistent that she is nothing more than a lie, Kolis’s erratic nature and twisted sense of honor leave her shaken to the core, and nothing could’ve prepared her for the cruelty of his Court or the shocking truths revealed. The revelations not only upend what she has understood about her duty and the very creation of the realms but also draw into question exactly what the true threat is. However, surviving Kolis is only one part of the battle. The Ascension is upon her, and Sera is out of time.

But Nyktos will do anything to keep Sera alive and give her the life she deserves. He’ll even risk the utter destruction of the realms, and that’s exactly what will happen if he doesn’t Ascend as the Primal of Life. Yet despite his desperate determination, their destinies may be out of their hands.

But there is that foreseen unexpected thread—the unpredictable, unknown, and unwritten. The only thing more powerful than the Fates…

This was the third and last in the series so far. I didn't njoy it as much as the first and second, that's not to say I was able to put it down. I couldn't! Not until I had no choice as it was finished. I thought the numerous explicit sex scenes were unnecessary. I got the drift the first time. In a couple of instances they did play an important part, but not as often as they showed up in the book. On a very positive note, the characters were so fulsome, I was very invested in their lives, their trials and tribulations, and the outcome for each of them. The scenery, surroundings, locations, structures etc are so well described, I was immersed in the whole experience. I'm excited about the fourth book which I have pre-ordered. Thank you for filling a large portion of my days and nights and placing me in an entirely different time and world.

Spoilers! This book was okey, but if you would cut 5 descriptions of sex coming straight after each other and really boring for me part where Sera was held captive by Kolis, we could get more satisfactory ending. It is worth to read, but dialogs are so long and not on point that while I was reading I though - Okey, shut up and say your stuff. I just wished that main characters would just speak meaningful things while they are in hurry, not chit chat.

i am only 200 pages in and really struggling to get through this book. I loved the first two but this book has changed and become a lot darker and that just isn't my thing. i am pushing through though because I am hoping it gets better.
