Interesting story development. Decent plot for a fantasy, fictional romance. But I'm used to a little more heat so to speak in these types of books. The romantic scene was lukewarm at best. Which was odd because the rest of the book had alot of creativity and description. Lss i didn't hate it. I finished it. I won't read any of the others in the series.

It's an ok book. Certainly not like her other books. There's not much passion, not much fun sexy scenes in this book, not much fun, period. By the time I did get to some, I was just so weary of the book I didn't really care anymore. I understand the psyche of victims like Miriam and I think the author presented her fairly accurately. I just have no patience for people who act as though they have no choices in life. There are ALWAYS choices. They may not be EASY choices, but there ARE choices. ALWAYS.

LOVED THIS!!! Knowing people who's been in domestic abuse relationships, a lot of people don't understand the struggle of leaving. Everyone always says, I'd just leave but it's not that simple. Miriam and Ben relationship was a very real demonstration of what the reality of domestic violence is and I admire Miriam for holding her ground! Coming to terms with who she was and flaming his ass was everything!!! I also love Jack for sticking with her even when she tried to keep him at arms length and push him away. You did a fantastic job.
