This book really made no sense. All of the friends had high IQ's, yet they still continued on this journey knowing each would die, even as adults. It is really dumb for ones so smart. The storyline led up to this huge secret, only to be left disappointed. Really a waste of time reading. Almost deleted the book, but I thought it might get better, really disappointed! Don't waste your time reading!

The story was gripping from the start... Couldn't wait to find out what happens next! But then the end was so drawn out with that unnecessary longwinded conversation between P & Tessa. I kept reading thinking OK, somethings going to happen... But nothing. It was a real downer to have to slog through the last chapter after such a riveting book.

OK I'm again on the fence with a book and the review as I'm composing it. On the one hand I really enjoyed the book even with the punctuation and grammar issues. But that's just the beginning. The story does hook you in from the beginning and you already know it's going to be a doozey as the author plays it out. The characters are good but he doesn't seem stable enough to be released to return to work much less stable enough to do the job and friend or no it's hard to believe his partner would believe he could have his back. This is only one thing I had issues with but it was enough to make things that happened just a little less believable. The thing is I love this author's recent work and I love the suspense she brings to the read which makes the romance more bearable (I still don't understand how they can go to immediate love and just bypass the hi can we get to know each other but that's just me).

About the author

Jane has loved reading and writing since she can remember. She writes dark and disturbing crime/mystery/suspense with some romance thrown in because, well, who doesn’t love romance?! She has several series including the complete Detective Parker Bell series, the Count to Ten series, the Christmas Romantic Suspense series, and the Flashes of Fate series of novelettes.

When she’s not writing Jane loves to read, bake, go to the beach, ski, horse ride, and watch Disney movies. She has a black belt in Taekwondo, a 200+ collection of teddy bears, and her favorite color is pink. She has the world’s two most sweet and pretty Dalmatians, Ivory and Pearl. Oh, and she also enjoys spending time with family and friends!
