Detective Comics remains one of the highlights of DC's Rebirth initiative, delivering a compelling story, great characters, and fantastic artwork every issue so far. But one area where the series has lacked a bit is action. Issue #938 handily solves that problem, with the Bat-team finally taking the fight to the Colony in their own base, and it's awesome. Everyone gets a chance to shine during this battle, and seeing them bring the hurt is immensely satisfying, especially considering this is their very first time fighting together as a group. But despite all the action, this issue's not all flash and no substance. As in the previous installments, we get yet a little more info about the Colony and their supposed true enemy, which further helps develop them as antagonists and gives them enough shades of gray to make it clear they're not pure evil. The strong character moments that have been a notable part of the series to date are here as well, with every character (whether Bat-team or Colony) being written to pitch-perfection. This series is basically a must-buy at this point. I truly cannot recommend it enough.
