About this ebook

Dare to face the most terrifying heights of suspense. From hospital murders to explosive court battles, the Women's Murder Club takes on their most harrowing challenge yet.
It is a wild race against time as Lieutenant Lindsay Boxer and the newest member of the Women's Murder Club, attorney Yuki Castellano, lead an investigation into a string of mysterious patient deaths-and reveal a hospital administration determined to shield its reputation at all costs. And while the hospital wages an explosive court battle that grips the entire nation, the Women's Murder Club hunts for a merciless killer among its esteemed medical staff.
With high-speed thrills and page-turning twists, The 5th Horseman proves once again that James Patterson "has mastered the art of writing" (Chicago Sun-Times).

A. Yes and no. Q. Okay, first the yes side. A. My wife and I heard the entire book, about 8 disks, going to and from Chicago from Los Angeles, by car. I had read no James Patterson books, so this was all new stuff for me. It did occupy the drive time. The reader was good at simulating the various voices. Q. And the no side? A. Lindsay Boxer, the serial heroine of Patterson books, solves three different murder cases. These include two cases related to hospitals, and one involving a transsexual. The three seemed to have nothing in common. They were never woven into a whole. That was a little bothersome. Also, the girl groups, Lindsay and her three girlfriends meeting to eat, drink, and talk, were boring to me. I am not a woman, though, so maybe my wife liked this part. I did not ask her. Same with the Joe-Lindsay romance. It was totally boring to me. Maybe women would enjoy this part. I know my wife can only take so much violence in an audiobook, and there is plenty of it here. To her credit, she listened to the whole thing, only once or twice asking for breaks. Q. So your overall opinion. Would this appeal to most listeners? A. I cannot say. I know Patterson is prolific, and he had a co-writer on this one. I know so little about Patterson that I do not know if he has died and his estate has hired someone to continue the books, or if he is still alive but working with another writer. I intend to look it up, though.
