I give the whole series five stars! It is hard to belive that a 50 plus year old man can so accurately (and amusingly, I might add) reproduce and write in the style of a fourteen year old girl. The chapters are wonderfully short and action packed- sure to please anyone who is looking for a dash of romance. The characters are so intricately woven and beautifully detailed and creative. So little brought to the public eye, this series tops the Hunger Games books by many, many points in my opinion. (5 for this, 3.5 for HG) James Patterson has made me laugh more times than I care to count with his witty words and entertaining descriptions. The books are based on a deep underlying current- the question of bioethics. Mashing that seriously debated subject into a teen book so subtly and adeptly that it took me until the third read of the entire series to realize is a fantastic feat that is unreplicable. Dashing together fast-paced fights, romance, conflict, humor, good versus evil, and everyone's dream limb (wings) into a crazy good story that will take you for a ride every time you read them. I highly recommend this series to all searching for a good read. Soar to survive. -Max

The full series of Maximum Ride are my all-time favorite. I've read many books, but this series really is very special and unique. It has made me laugh me so hard and cry at the end. So much emotion is packed into these books, and I don't think it would disappoint anyone.
