About this ebook

“The Little Minister” is an 1891 novel by J. M Barrie. Sir James Matthew Barrie (1860 – 1937) was a Scottish novelist and playwright most famous as being the creator of Peter Pan. Other notable works by this author include: “Auld Licht Idylls” (1888), “A Window in Thrums” (1890), and “Tommy and Grizel” (1900). Barrie's third novel, “The Little Minister” was inspired by life in the town where his mother grew up, Thrums, and offer the reader an authentic glimpse into nineteenth-century Scottish life. Highly recommended for those who have read and enjoyed his other works. Contents include: “The Love-Light”, “Runs Alongside the Making of a Minster”, “The Night-Watchers”, “First Coming of the Egyptian Woman”, “A Warlike Chapter, Culminating in the Flouting of the Minister by the Woman”, “In Which the Soldiers Meet the Amazons of Thrums”, “Has the Folly of Looking into a Woman's Eyes by Way of Text”, etc. Many vintage books such as this are increasingly scarce and expensive. It is with this in mind that we are republishing this volume now in an affordable, modern, high-quality edition complete with a specially-commissioned new biography of the author.
