The book was really great. It took me 3 month to finish it, but that's because every so often you need to stop and digest what you are reading and actually applying it to your life. I am a Coptic Orthodox Christian and I have learned a lot from it. Yet like any book it is not perfect. The book is very general and tries to attract people from all walks of life which makes it a bit elongated than it should be. But it was definitely worthwhile!

James Martin seems like a modern day person who embodies a lowly tone in his writing. As a protestant Christian, I have a certain way of seeing the world shaped by my own beliefs, and beliefs of others. This book challenged me to treat God as someone who is more approachable than a close friend. I am not literate and I've managed to fumble my way to the 10th chapter (80% through the book). This book has changed how I pray, meditate, and read the bible. I highly recommend this to you if you curious about the Jesuits or are in transition between your parent's and your own faith.
