About this ebook

Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, a new play by Jack Thorne, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the eighth story in the Harry Potter series and the first official Harry Potter story to be presented on stage. The play received its world premiere in London’s West End on 30th July 2016.

It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.

While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.

The story was disappointing 😑 I saw a free ebook and started reading it, but I thought it was a fake story! So I bought it and saw it's the same 😐 And it was absolutely rubbish! I really wish I could get my money back! Rowling made one of the biggest fans of Harry Potter disappointed! Does she not care about fans?! Well many enjoyed this too anyway 😒 It's really cruel to end Harry Potter world with this rubbish! I just hope Rowling herself rewrites the whole story, a whole new story, with the same title!

It was just one big, over-glorified, fanfic posing as the 'Eighth Harry Potter Book'. Is nothing sacred? It would have been fine if they stayed in their own little timeline, but nooooooo. They decided to go back and insert their story and characters into all of the other books, because everyone likes the older books! It's like they expected this play to bomb, so they just filled it with nostalgia. A complete waste of my time. To give you some perspective: I ended up liking their version of Draco Malfoy. DRACO MALFOY. The person I was suppose to loathe/pity by the end of the series. Utter garbage.

Overall an enjoyable read but everything happens too quickly. Character building is lacking in the screenplay format. The whole Draco thing seems forced. I liked it but it takes away from the original. If JK was going to continue the series she should have done it on her own and it should've been a novel. I think she let the business get the best of her and now there isn't much room for adapting the story to another series.
