About this ebook

With Second Watch, New York Times bestselling author J. A. Jance delivers another thought-provoking novel of suspense starring Seattle investigator J. P. Beaumont.

Second Watch shows Beaumont taking some time off to get knee replacement surgery, but instead of taking his mind off work, the operation plunges him into one of the most perplexing mysteries he's ever faced.

His past collides with his present in this complex and thrilling story that explores loss and heartbreak, duty and honor, and, most importantly, the staggering cost of war and the debts we owe those who served in the Vietnam War, and those in uniform today.

I moved to the Seattle area In 1987. A former boss introduced me to J A Jance and her character J P Beaumont. He became my guide through Seattle those early years. I've read most of her other books since, but the Beaumont books remain near and dear to my heart. It was nice to have a glimpse into his early days and to honor those who serve.

This may be my favorite J. A. Jance book. I am the type of reader that literally reads the book cover to cover and her explanation of where her characters came from and the real story of Lennie D made the book that much better. Have always loved her writing and have had the pleasure of listening to a reading she did in a little town called Port Angeles, WA. The book was "Exit Wounds" which I got a signed copy.
