If you've come to the second issue of Imposter Syndrome looking for improvement, you're likely going to come away disappointed. While the writing and dialogue for lead characters Surge and Kit is better than issue one, the overall story and pacing continues to be rather underwhelming. The one distinct story beat, the one relating to Surge and Kit's origin, was already painfully obvious by the end of issue one to the point it feels like the end of this issue is two months late to the party. Quite frankly, aside from a few fun interactions I was mostly either bored or confused while reading this and the confusion came from the art. Also some of the boredom. There are a few action scenes that consist of nothing more than Surge nebulously "going fast" in a way that makes me have to stifle a yawn, and the one fight with any consequence to it was handled so sloppily it was tough to tell what even happened. Overall the art was medium at best, and it wasn't often at its best.
