It sure wasn't what I expected, the first part of the book was a slow lead up, you get caught in the story of Luce and her background, Luce is different, but you're not quite sure how yet. There are so many interesting characters within the story and how their lives intersect with Luce, and then BAM, it becomes a paranormal story, love the 4 horseman aspect, can't wait to read book number two!

Excellent read! A definite page turner... So much excitement, following the main character as a police officer on crime scenes, which suddenly take a personal turn. I couldn't put it down!

That's how I went into this book. Based off the blurb I had no real idea what it was about to have any expectations. Which is a gamble bc normally I won't pay for a book if I don't have a real idea of what it's about. I'm glad I bought it bc it's so well written. Luce is such a strong heroine. Nothing but respect for her. I'm so curious about who Ezra is. Can't wait for the next!

Hailey's beginning was a good one. She was raised in a small town in Alabama with two siblings. Her parents have been married for 32 years, proof that humans really can mate for life.

Her middle is pretty good, too. She met her husband on January 11, 1999. Their first date was on February 5, 1999. He proposed to her nine days later on Valentine's Day. They married two months after that. He says it was fate. She's just happy he found her.

Hailey's end is unwritten, but she has the love of her family and the support of her friends.

That is the best happily ever after she can imagine.
