No subject is taboo, as one of the true giants of rock ’n’ roll opens up about his Georgia youth, his long struggle with substance abuse, his string of bad marriages (including his brief union with superstar Cher), the tragic death of  brother Duane Allman, and life on the road in one of rock’s most legendary bands.

I was into the blues at a very young age, but was mostly a "purist"- listened to Robert Johnson Big Bill Broonzy B Blue Bland. But one day after school in the local record shop my friend brought to my attention to a new release The Allman Brothers Band. I looked at the tract listing and thought what the heck? Took it home and it totally blew me away!!! NEVER heard a white boy play guitar like that before!! And the Hammond B3-- Whoah! Well that's where it all began for me, age 15. I eventually ended up working at Capricorn Studio. It was the music drew me there and I haven't regretted one moment. Your book is great Gregg! fascinating to hear a bit more about the life of such great song writer/singer /player. All the ups and downs, I've been there with you and the ABB before you even had proper roadies! And one thing I gotta tell ya, Gregg, is that you have come full circle!!! Finally. I am so proud of you, and know what? Duane is too!!! Love ya and thanks for sharing!
