This is why we love Rucka. He, in a single issue explored the complexities of a dystopian future by juxtaposing society in the macro with a family in the micro. Oh and there is a female champion, who doesn't die. Classic Rucka and this seems to be another Classic. Time to raise the dead and pick up Lazarus again and again.

Way too short! I think I never got into comics as a kid because I was reading Tolkien in 3rd & 4th grade and I was never introduced to graphic novels of the lengths like Maus or V for Vendetta et cetera. I'm gonna see if I can buy all the issues of this story as one collection.

I think this is gritty sci-fi at it's best! Can't wait to read the next issue!
