I devoured this series as a kid, and it sparked a lifelong obsession with mountaineering literature. Gordon Korman always writes amazing adventure literature, and there's no greater adventure than Mount Everest. The story is compelling, and the characters are well rounded. No one is truly evil or truly good, they're people reacting to extreme motivation and extreme circumstances. Highly recommend this book for kids (not too young, not everyone survives the trilogy) and early teens. I still love it as an adult, but later teens and adults might need the nostalgia I have in order to truly love it just due to the reading level.
