About this ebook

In this bestselling fish-out-of-water classic, a homeschooled kid must learn how to fit in at his new public school when he's elected to be class president as a prank.

Capricorn Anderson (Cap for short) has never watched a television show. Heā€™s never tasted pizza. Heā€™s never heard of a wedgie. And he has never, even in his wildest dreams, thought heā€™d live anywhere but the Garland Farm commune with his hippie grandmother and homeschool instructor, Rain.
Ā
But all this changes when Rain is stuck in the hospital and Cap is sent to Claverage Middle School (dubbed C Average by the kids). CapĀ doesn't exactly fit in at school, with his long, ungroomed hair andĀ hemp clothes; in fact, he's the biggest nerd around. But when heā€™s elected eighth grade president as a joke, Cap is more puzzled than ever, and soon the joke grows into something more. Will CapĀ be the greatest president in the history of C Average or the biggest punch line?
Ā
Rife with Gordon Kormanā€™s signature humor, Schooled is a heartwarming story about friendship, kindness, and finding your placeā€”which may not always be where you think it is.

It took me back to my childhood growing up in the '60s and '70s. My son and I both read it and we shared a wonderful journey of discussing values that stand the test of time. I recommend this book to middle school children and adults of any age especially the baby boomers!

This is a great book, it would make a good movie if it isn't already. I read this for a school assignment, and I'm happy I did! You might be able to relate some of this book to reality. Well it was very enjoyable, and the author should make a part two. :-)
