About this ebook

A NATIONAL BESTSELLER

In perilous times, facts, expertise, and truth are indispensable. President Trump’s flagrant disregard for the truth and his self-aggrandizing exaggerations, specious misstatements, and bald-faced lies have been rigorously documented and debunked since the first day of his presidency by The Washington Post’s Fact Checker staff.

Donald Trump and His Assault on Truth is based on the only comprehensive compilation and analysis of the more than 16,000 fallacious statements that Trump has uttered since the day of his inauguration. He has repeated many of his most outrageous claims dozens or even hundreds of times as he has sought to bend reality to his political fantasy and personal whim.

Drawing on Trump’s tweets, press conferences, political rallies, and TV appearances, The Washington Post identifies his most frequently used misstatements, biggest whoppers, and most dangerous deceptions. This book unpacks his errant statements about the economy, immigration, the impeachment hearings, foreign policy, and, of critical concern now, the coronavirus crisis as it unfolded.

Fascinating, startling, and even grimly funny, Donald Trump and His Assault on Truth by The Washington Post is the essential, authoritative record of Trump’s shocking disregard for facts.

I consider this an important ebook purchase because it speaks to something very fundamental. Truth and trust! When elected leaders lie - and lie about everything and anything - they undermine so much in the present and so much into the future. History teaches us that lying is common in politics. But when lying becomes so egregious and so pervasive that it is accepted as the norm - then there is a serious problem and a critical dilemma. Where do we turn for the truth, and how do we curtail and mitigate the constant lying? Whom can we depend on to correct the information and the record? Awareness is vital! Documenting, questioning and calling out the lies is crucial - because this consciously counters the notion that the lies are accepted. If the lies are not challenged and not documented - then they are even more dangerous and damaging! We feel helpless. We have been told an astounding number of lies in a compressed period of time. Now these lies are on record for posterity. True power!

Neatly, concisely & accurately spells out how one man was able to amass half the country into worshipping himself and not their country anymore. A lot of people stop listening and lash out when confronted with a truth that threatens their pride..their ego. "When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross."

President Biden’s regime has already labeled concerned parents who oppose mask mandates and Critical Race Theory as “domestic terrorists.” And in a move straight out of a third-world, banana republic, Biden weaponized the FBI and Justice Department to go after the leader of the opposition Party. The American people are smarter than Joe Biden/Obama thinks. Joe Biden smearing Donald Trump and calling his supporters “fascists” only makes Democrats look that much more out of touch with Americans.
