About this ebook

Once upon a time, the world’s greatest heroine was reimagined by a comic book legend. More than 40 years after debuting in ALL STAR COMICS #8, Wonder Woman was reshaped by legendary comics creator George Pérez and returned to the public eye in 1986. This updated Amazonian Princess met with such acclaim that Pérez’s original six-month commitment to the title wasextended—and extended—until nearly five years had passed. Working with co-writer Len Wein and a host of talented inkers (including Bob McLeod, Dick Giordano, Bruce Patterson and Bob Smith), Pérez brought Wonder Woman to a new generation of readers—and to unprecedented levels of success. Now these groundbreaking stories are available in an all-new trade paperback edition. Collecting WONDER WOMAN #15-24 and WONDER WOMAN ANNUAL #1, this second volume in the series also includes a special gallery of archival art and information.

King George Perez is the main reason I started reading comics. His New Teen Titans gave me characters to enjoy and his visuals have always been eye catching exploratory images to behold. After reading Crisis on Infinite Earth...I was curious on what was going to be done with many of the heroes afterwards. And then I was informed that George Perez was going to be drawing Wonder Woman. Had to wonder if he would bring the warrior aspects of Starfire with the modeling of Donna Troy to the book until I saw how this take on WW was her own thing...and I enjoyed it. Thank you King GP. You made a fan of your work get into a character I had not enjoyed beforehand. I still come back to this as her real telling and not that New 52/Daughter of Zeus thing. That leaves a bitter feel in my imagination.

About the author

George Pérez started drawing at the age of five and hasn't stopped since. Born on June 9, 1954, Pérez started his professional comics career as an assistant to Rich Buckler in 1973. After establishing himself as a penciller at Marvel Comics, Pérez first came to DC in 1980, where his highly detailed art style was seen in such titles as JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA and FIRESTORM THE NUCLEAR MAN. After co-creating THE NEW TEEN TITANS with Marv Wolfman in 1980, Pérez and Wolfman collaborated again on the landmark miniseries CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS. In the midst of the post-crisis revamps, Pérez revitalized WONDER WOMAN and as the series' writer and artist, he not only reestablished Wonder Woman as one of DC's preeminent characters, but also brought in some of the best sales the title has ever experienced.
