About this ebook

Read the play that became the film My Fair Lady

“I sold flowers. I didn't sell myself. Now you've made a lady of me I'm not fit to sell anything else.” ― George Bernard Shaw, Pygmalion

In George Bernard Shaw's classic drama, Pygmalion, Professor Henry Higgins transforms a low-class flower-seller into a lady, all through changing the way she speaks. This funny, romantic and thought-provoking play is a classic work that should be read by all fans of Eliza Doolittle.

Pygmalion itself is a very entertaining piece of literature, lending itself to be worth a 4-5 star rating. However this edition, not specified clearly upon purchase, should be noted to be the same edition found on the Gutenberg Project. This edition is the older version, which misses many important and well written scenes, segments, and conversations. The fact that the google bookstore sells this edition, which is accessible for free by anyone, is quite frustrating. Especially as my group study on the text has led me to only overhear the sections not included in this edition, and it truly results in a missing out of important story points. On a final point, the argument in ACT 3 does not properly translate through from page to online copy, and even further departs in the 'flow on' text option
