About this ebook

Comic book history was made in 1940 with the introduction of the Justice Society of America in ALL-STAR COMICS. Hour-Man, Doctor Fate, The Spectre, The Sandman, The Atom, The Flash, The Green Lantern and Hawkman all became acquainted with one another and the world met its first super-hero team! In the seventy-five years since their inaugural meeting, new generations of heroes including Superman, Wildcat, and Wonder Woman have come to the table with the purpose of protecting the DCU with their combined crime-fighting powers! From their first momentous team up by Gardner Fox and Everett E. Hibbard, to their modern member rosters by David Goyer and Geoff Jonns, JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA: A CELEBRATION OF 75 YEARS collects stories that unite DC Comics heroes over time and throughout the ages, from such legendary talents as Roy Thomas, Dennis O'Neil, Paul Levitz, Robert Kanigher, James Robsinson, and more!

The reviewer who whined that "the first few pages were cringeworthy at best" and the book was "nothing more than pro- America propaganda disguised as a comic" obviously hasn't the faintest clue what he's saying. The stories collected in this book were originally published starting in the 1940s, which was right in the middle of WWII, last I checked. This is an EXCELLENT read and definitely worth picking up. Kids these days really lack perspective, not to mention proper grammar and spelling (America is spelled with a capital 'A' and it's 'totally,' not 'totaylly.') Ugh.

The first few issues are cringe worthy at best. Really nothing more than pro america propaganda disguised as a comic. It was genuinely hard to get through it. Some of the later issues were decent enough. But if I had paid a cent more than the $5.99 sale price I would have felt totaylly ripped off. Do yourself a favor and pass on this. There are literally TONS of other old comics that are better. Pick up one of those instead.
