As a disabled woman who spends most of her time in a wheelchair I was disappointed. I was disappointed because we live in a world where disabled women are constantly being told they are victims. Victims of others, victims of fate, victims of our own bodies. When Batgirl had a chance to destroy that bigoted stereotype of disable women the choice was made to have her play into the disempowering rhetoric of a victim.

This is one of the very best comic book series I could ever read. Mainly because of Gail Simone. She is my most favorite writer and I am a huge fan of her work. I already knew this was going to be amazing and her work has of course exceeded my expectations. The storyline is absolutely amazing and the grapics are incredible! Simone still has that raw power and passion in her writing that not only brings Batgirl to life but gives you that special connection with the character that no other writer can do.
