I read this on a friend's table and wow so he go's to cat heaven for having a secret lover, hurt her and his own kit and while having another lover and ruining his only son's life ( the other lover) and yet still gets into it. Also I am a warrior cats fan and I'm shocked that the " story team " made this a super but then again they DID make a good bad guy in 4 Tom cats ( tigerstar, brokenstar, scourge and ashfur) that are my favorites and made mapleshade and the dark forest but did you really had to make it out like onestar HATES kittypets you do know that FIRESTAR was a kittypet too right? Anyway book wasn't good but only given you 3 only because I got into the book series in February of this year if I was a long time fan then different story. Hope you all don't recon anything else or worse make warrior cats into a something it's not and go with your OWN books when it comes to the next main one or at least make sure the facts are right.

Seriously underrated and surprisingly good. It skips Onestar's kithood and time jumps a lot, meaning zero filler compared to the other books; choosing to focus inwardly rather than environmentally for a surprisingly deep read. A pure introspection. I don't know why it gets all the hate. I don't think any of us would do much different in Onestar's position. Onestar just shouldn't have went to the twoleg place to begin with, mated with a kittypet before thinking things through, or lied. Apart from that it was just bad timing with everything on both ends and not much Onestar could've done for Smoke. She's not a warrior. Of course it would have been good if Onestar did inquire with Tallstar on Smokes behalf and/or came back to check on her sooner; but I personally think Smoke was being entitled to expect a starving, homeless clan to provide for her. She would have had a perfect home together with her kit and new twolegs if she wasn't so filled with hate that she turned Darktail evil.
