Ratings and reviews

While this book does not go into the ideas and reasoning of Linux as a whole, it does cover popular commands, similar to what "man pages" are and gives a brief understanding of the ones that it lists and examples of their uses. If you are seeking a book about the former, then I suggest "The Linux Bible". However, this is good for people with at least moderate experience and looking for a reference mostly.

I have had a copy of this book on my desk since I first started getting serious about Linux. Excellent resource for the user wishing to dive in and more out of their OS.

Love this book. Helps me understand the Linux commands from the ground up.
