Mother Teresa born as Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu in 1910 in Skopje, Macedonia, wanted to become a Nun and so she joined the Sisters of Loretto, an Irish Community of Nuns and missions in India. Mother Teresa came to India in 1931 and was moved by the prevailing poverty in India, served the poor and downtrodden throughout her life.

Mother Teresa's selfless work was recognized not only in India, but around the world. This title covers the details of her altruistic work. She was the recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 and the Bharat Ratna in 1980.
