About this ebook

After being found with the dead body of Vesper Fairchild in his arms, Bruce Wayne is arrested for her murder. Looking to prove Bruce's innocence, Nightwing, Robin and Batgirl quickly begin an investigation to discover the true killer. But as the mystery unfolds, evidence of Bruce's guilt mounts and even his closest allies begin to question their mentor's innocence. Tired of portraying himself as someone he is not and further embracing the freedom of his masked identity, Bruce decides to lay his millionaire playboy alter ego to rest and live life only as the Batman. This is a good Batman story despite it's length focus on numerous support characters. Despite the fact that this book is more about Bruce Wayne than Batman, the dark knight still gets plenty of air time. The artwork varies greatly throughout because this omnibus draws from so many sources. But the variety didn't really put me off any, instead it was more the numerous sub-plots that turned me off. Some of these asides seem to have nothing to do with the main story arc and don't belong in this collection in my opinion. Still, the writing is of the highest quality, the action fierce and the mystery will keep you guessing until the end. And all that makes a good Batman story as far as I'm concerned.

Too many subplots and extra characters thrown in, making the book/story arch unnecessarily long.

Good Batman story. But it felt like some parts of the original story was missing. But overall, I enjoyed it.
