Oh my goodness what a thrilling book What She Saw is! I am still breathless and I finished it a while ago! I actually couldn’t start this review until I got all my thoughts together, otherwise it would have been a jumble of words making no sense what so ever! Diane Saxon has created a story that is definitely not for the faint hearted. There were a few times where I had to stop and put it down to catch my breath, but it had me so hooked that I couldn’t tear myself away from it for too long. It really is one rollercoaster of a ride that will leave you shaken to the core! Diane Saxon kicks off the story in spectacular fashion and from there, it just keeps getting better as it goes along. It moves at a fast pace and had me furiously flicking the pages to see how it was all going to unfold. It has been very well researched and although at times I did find it could be just a bit too descriptive, this didn’t take away from my enjoyment of it. The story is the third in the Detective Sergeant Jenna Morgan series and is easily able to be read as a standalone. Diane Saxon does touch on the previous stories and gives enough information to be able to follow along and it has definitely made me want to go back and read the other two books that’s for sure. Jenna is a great character who I look forward getting to know more about. I can’t believe I haven’t been exposed to and read a book from Diane Saxon before What She Saw and I have to thank Rachel from Rachel’s Random Resources for introducing me to her work. I am now so eager to devour everything that she has written when I can. Everything about What She Saw just works. The striking cover which immediately draws you to it, a strong plot, a diverse bunch of characters, that all are brought together through writing that is just so engaging, really does make What She Saw an exceptional read and is one that I recommend. Thank you to Diane Saxon, Boldwood Books and NetGalley for allowing me to read an advanced copy of What She Saw, which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Never a dull moment - what a stunning read! I've already downloaded the first two in series to catch up with. Called out in the middle of the night, DS Jenna Morgan finds herself attending a house fire so large and intensive that there is no way to know if the residents were at home or not. When bodies are discovered in the ruins, the count doesn't add up to all members of the Lawrence family who lived there; so who is unaccounted for and where are they? This is an exciting and fast moving story, beautifully crafted, carefully plotted and absolutely packed with action from beginning to end. Personal details are included but nothing takes away from the crime story. There is such a lot happening! As a conscientious officer, Jenna is kept busy as other things need dealt with in her working life, but she never loses sight of the bigger picture. The characters are true to life, the story flows really well and kept me glued all the way through. Thought-provoking and thrilling with a good slice of humour, it adds up to an absolutely superb read. Definitely an author to add to your 'must not miss' read, and I'm delighted to give this all five sparkling stars!

It starts with a horrific shooting ... father, mother, twin girls, young son, teenage daughter. The house was then burned to the ground. But there's something strange .. th ebody count doesn't tally. Is the missing family member a victim... a witness ... or a murderer? Who wanted this family extinguished beyond recognition? It's a riveting cases for DS Jenna Morgan and her efficient team. There were no witnesses that they know of ... no motive ... and no clues as to why. This is a fast-paced page-turner. Action and suspense starts on the very first page and holds steady until the unexpected conclusion. The characters are deftly drawn .. warts and all. Although 3rd in the series, this is easily read as a stand alone, however, I do recommend reading in order ... just to pick up those nuggets that make this an intriguing series. Many thanks to the author / Boldwood Books / Netgalley for the digital copy of this crime fiction. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.
