RESCUE: COWBOY STYLE by Rebecca Zanetti My review covers RESCUE: COWBOY STYLE by Rebecca Zanetti REVIEW: RESCUE: COWBOY STYLE by Rebecca Zanetti is a contemporary, adult, romantic suspense novella found in the multi-authored Lone Wolf anthology. This is cowboy/rancher thirty-two year old Trent Logan, and twenty-four year old, accountant Hallie Rose’s story line. Told from dual third person perspectives (Trent and Hallie) RESCUE: COWBOY STYLE follows twenty-four year old accountant Hallie Rose in the aftermath of an accident on her way through Wyoming cattle country but Hallie never expected to walk into a ranch house, meeting cowboy Trent Logan, a man who stirs something deep within our story line heroine. Trent Logan suspects Hallie Rose is on the run but our heroine refuses to reveal the truth about her past. With his ‘brothers in arms’ Trent slowly begins to break down our heroine’s walls but Trent and his fellow co-op cowboys are keeping secrets of their own, secrets that are dark and dangerous. When Hallie’s past starts closing in , Trent and his ‘brothers’ begin an investigation of their own discovering the truth behind the threats against Hallie Rose. What ensues is the quick building romance and relationship between Hallie and Trent, and the potential fall-out as Hallie’s past is determined to take down our story line heroine. The relationship between Hallie and Trent is quick to develop. Trent believes Hallie is his very own happily ever after, the first of his ‘brothers’ to find some peace and happiness after years battling the demons from their past. There are no $ex scenes; the sexual attraction is palpable. There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters. We are introduced to Trent’s ‘brothers in arms’ alluding to several more story lines and a potential new series. RESCUE: COWBOY STYLE is a fast paced, intriguing and energetic story line. The premise is intriguing and entertaining; the romance is sweet and seductive; the characters are engaging, charismatic and numerous.

Lone Wolf is an anthology containing stories from 3 different authors each with a wolf connection. Even though the stories by Diana Palmer and Kate Pearce tie back to a larger series (and I suspect Rebecca Zanetti's may as well or at least be the start of one) they all stand perfectly fine on their own. The Morgan Ranch series by Kate Pearce is one of my all-time favorites so I loved revisiting the town and catching up on more of the secondary characters. It was certainly my favorite of the 3. Rebecca Zanetti's story was the first I read by this author and it won't be the last. Great, fast-paced, engaging story. As for the other story in the collection unfortunately, it fell a bit flat for me. While I enjoyed revisiting past characters, the heroine seemed unrealistically childlike and naive.

I read Wolf on Her Doorstep first, then Colorado Cowboy, and finally Rescue: Cowboy Style. The last book was the best. 2 stars Colorado Cowboy - Diana Palmer This book was difficult to get through. Also, this story felt very dated to me. The dialogue was dull, stilted, and lacking emotion. It was the strangest thing. I felt absolutely no connection to anything in this story. I take that back. I felt no connection to the main characters, who seemed to have no personality. The main characters had no chemistry. Given Esther's circumstances, there was no suspense or buildup of tension. How did the secondary characters have personality, however mild, but the mc's were just dry and boring? 4 stars The Wolf On Her Doorstep - Kate Pearce I hadn't been to Morgantown in a while. Some of the previous characters were mentioned, and it made me want to reread some of the books. No worries. It is not necessary to read any of the series to be able to enjoy Beth and Connors story. It's a short, sweet, kind of instalove story. Both Connor and Beth had back stories that would have been interesting to get more details, but there was just enough information for this one. A good read about love, loyalty, trust, and life lessons. I wish it had not been such a short story. 5 stars Rescue: Cowboy Style Rebecca Zanetti This book was much edgier that the first two books. There was tension, intrigue, and suspense from start to finish. This book did keep me on the edge of my seat. Although this was Trent and Hallie's story, it left me wanting to know about each of the brothers. Trent and Hallie had this sexual tension, a strong attraction, and off the charts chemistry. There were moments when I was confused, trying to figure out exactly what was going on. Admittedly, I was fed a piece of the puzzle here and there, but it was oh so satisfying when that final piece was in place. Yet, I had the sense that there was so much left to know about each of them. I haven't read Rebecca Zanetti's work in a while, but this short story reminded me of what I was missing. I have to find out if the other guys have books out there so I can pick them up. I voluntarily read and reviewed these books received via NetGalley.
