About this ebook

With his witty, humorous, and heartfelt writing style that took the social media world virtually by storm, Derrick Jaxn delivers another lesson in love wrapped in the emotionally transparent perspective of a troubled man. Shawn Fletcher, a former college football phenom turned successful entrepreneur, is in need of the very thing he's never proven to be ready for; love. To finally get to the heart of the issue, his therapist goes digging into a closet full of skeletons that neither of them were ready for. Shawn opens up about going to college and meeting Jazmin, the bodacious vixen from Atlanta with a slick tongue and vicious curves. They tame their sexual rendezvous into a genuine friendship shortly before Danielle comes and stakes claim on Shawn's heart. Everything seems perfect until his commitment to Danielle nearly costs Jazmin her life. Shawn wants to fix things but knows he can't be in two places at once; but can he make his heart play by the same rules?

It had some hits and misses. It seemed as if this is the authors' first book. He was trying to feel his way. There seemed to be a bit of a disconnect between the beginning of the book and the transition towards the middle/end of the book. Some of the reactions from the characters were a little unrealistic in certain situations. While some of the situations and circumstances the main character found himself in were very real life like, I don't feel like the author really explored enough with Shawn. Surface.

Just how much of this is fiction? I see many parallels between this and your videos and personal life story. I always loved writing essays on author analysis it explained so much even in fiction, as most writers especially starting out use themselves and experiences as their muse. Thank you for the imagery, Superman. Lol Zane couldn't have done better

It's been a long time since I've been so into a book that I read the whole book in under 12 hours! I couldn't stop reading until the end. His writing is captivating and this may have been the first book of his I've ever read but it surely won't be anywhere close to the last! I'll read every single one he ever publishes

About the author

A man is as a man does; not says, hopes, nor promises. Derrick Jaxn(Jackson), a native of Enterprise, Alabama, found his purpose in his exceptional ability to impact lives by relating to others through literature. As the youngest of 5 in a single parent household, he witnessed his mother overcome life threatening illnesses while working multiple jobs, which would later become the catalyst in his drive to impose a standard of excellence, logic, and originality on a world dictated by blind conformity. Derrick Jaxn founded a non-profit teen mentoring organization, won national and multiple conference football championships, was a community leader, and landed a position in Fortune 500 corporate America, all before completing his undergraduate studies at the historic Tuskegee University. While his story is nothing short of inspirational, more importantly, it's only just begun. In a considerably short amount of time, he's taken his personal blog from being a diary of thought and perspective, to a lifestyle pulpit that millions have experienced and found value in for themselves. Popular articles such as "12 Things She Wishes You Understood" and "The Wake Up Call, Sincerely Trayvon Martin" have been shared among social network users over 75,000 times each. Even as a lifestyle blogger, Jaxn continues to express himself across various mediums, in particular his highly anticipated first publication, "A Cheating Man's Heart". He has an undeniable talent, unwavering ambition, and boundless potential to be one of the most influential men of his generation.
