About this ebook

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

Set in Cedar Cove’s charming Rose Harbor Inn, Debbie Macomber’s captivating new novel follows innkeeper Jo Marie and two new guests as they seek healing and comfort, revealing that every cloud has a silver lining, even when it seems difficult to find.

Since opening the Rose Harbor Inn, Jo Marie Rose has grown close to her handyman, Mark Taylor. Jo Marie and Mark are good friends—and are becoming something more—yet he still won’t reveal anything about his past. When Mark tells her that he’s moving out of town, Jo Marie is baffled. Just when she is starting to open herself up again to love, she feels once more that she is losing the man she cares about. And as she discovers the secret behind Mark’s decision to leave, she welcomes two visitors also seeking their own answers.

Best friends Kellie Crenshaw and Katie Gilroy have returned to Cedar Cove for their ten-year high school reunion, looking to face down old hurts and find a sense of closure. Kellie, known as Coco, wants to finally confront the boy who callously broke her heart. Katie, however, wishes to reconnect with her old boyfriend, James—the man she still loves and the one who got away. As Katie hopes for a second chance, Coco discovers that people can change—and both look to the exciting possibilities ahead.

Heartwarming and uplifting, Silver Linings is a beautiful novel of letting go of the past and embracing the unexpected.

Silver Linings is a wonderful book in the Rose Harbor series. Silver Linings is book 4 in the series. I hadn't read any of the other books. There are several romances going on in the book. The reader learns the outcome of two of them but not the third. That's the only thing that disappointed me was not learning the outcome between Jo Marie and Mark. I'm not sure if the next book has the outcome or if more books need to be read.

Silver Linings: A Rose Harbor Novel by Debbie Macomber is the fourth book in the series. Jo Marie Rose loves her new home and running The Inn at Rose Harbor in Cedar Cover, Washington. She has also enjoyed getting to know Mark Taylor. Mark has been working as her handyman. He recently confessed that he is love with Jo Marie and that he is leaving. Mark feels he is not worthy of Jo Marie. He has put his house up for sale and has barely talked to her the last three weeks as he has finished the gazebo (for Rose Harbor). Mark finishes the gazebo and leaves. Jo Marie throws herself into her work about welcomes two new guests to the inn. Katie Gilroy and Coco Crenshaw have arrived for their ten year class reunion. Katie is hoping to reconnect with her first love, James. Coco wants to get even with Ryan Temple. Ryan humiliated Coco during their senior year of high school after the homecoming dance. Will Rose Harbor help Katie and Coco as it has past guests? Jo Marie is trying to move on now that Mark has left. Bob Beldon has come by and told her Mark’s true reason for leaving (not that it helped her). Jo Marie has joined the Survivor Outreach Services (a support group) and reconnected with her old friend, Gina. Gina has decided to set up Jo Marie on a date with her fiancé’s older brother, Rich. Jo Marie has not been on a date since the death of her husband. You just know the date is not going to go well. Jo Marie needs to decide how she really feels about Mark before she can decide what to do with her love life. I was delighted to read Silver Linings. It was a heartwarming novel. I do not read this type of book often (not anymore), but I love Debbie Macomber’s novels (and this was no exception). Silver Linings is well-written, engaging, and has great flow. You just want to keep reading until the very end (and then I did not want it to end). I give Silver Linings 5 out of 5 stars. I wish we did not have to wait another to find out what happens with Mark and Jo Marie! I received a complimentary copy of this novel from the publisher (through LibraryThing) in exchange for an honest review. The review and opinions expressed are my own.

Heartfelt, heart wrenching, heart-warming. This is definitely a novel with heart. Macomber takes readers back to the beautify Rose Harbor in for a story packed full of emotion & discovery. Jo Marie’s brief narration of her new life also makes this a good starting point for new readers to the series. The reason for the name of the inn is fantastic. With just two words Macomber connects the entire novel (and the series) together. It sets the scene for what has happened and what will happen. I really enjoyed how this novel wasn’t a rushed weekend of rejuvenation. These characters took much longer to get there. Being able to follow each of them throughout their journey truly inspired me. I really enjoy how Macomber focuses not only on Jo Marie’s life but also on those of her guests. The intersections of everyone’s lives gives a sense of continuity. The different tone of the writing as Macomber writes about the three major characters’ current life events really makes each of them stand out. I love how their stories weave together. My final thoughts on this one? Oh my goodness! Mark! Macomber has me so fully entrenched in this world and the lives of her characters that my heart is pounding out of my chest & I’m dying to see how this all plays out.
