Some thing about the way this is written makes me wonder who the true author could be. It just reads slightly differently than I'm used to from Koontz, idk, just saying

This was eerie as a man breaks up with his girlfriend and after while, he begins to date again and believes that he has found a nice woman, but she is anything but.
