Sorfina Aida aka Neena Shu is a self-taught artist who creates through many forms and mediums such as polymer clay, miniature craft, acrylic painting, and digital art. Neena's unique style is a deceptive mix of pop art and psychological goth whimsy. Her pieces are brought to life with vibrant colours and cutesy aesthetics while dealing with subject matters that dip into human nature's deeper, darker side. She subverts the matter by bringing a childlike wonder and innocence to topics like death, trauma, social issues, and self-reflection, thereby adding a sense of joie de vivre while addressing the grey areas of life between darkness and light. She also draws from her experiences as a professional dancer. She is trained in traditional Malay and Borneo dance but found her groove in hip-hop, contemporary, and urban dance styles. She graduated from Enfiniti Academy with a course in Dance and Movement, auditioned, and won a place with an international performing arts company, Encore Melaka, dancing professionally from 2018 - 2020.
