INTRODUCING
HONOR HARRINGTON

Having made him look a fool, she's been exiled to Basilisk Station in disgrace and set up for ruin by a superior who hates her.

Her demoralized crew blames her for their ship's humiliating posting to an out-of-the-way picket station.

The aborigines of the system's only habitable planet are smoking homicide-inducing hallucinogens.

Parliament isn't sure it wants to keep the place; the major local industry is smuggling; the merchant cartels want her head; the star-conquering, so-called "Republic" of Haven is Up To Something; and Honor Harrington has a single, over-age light cruiser with an armament that doesn't work to police the entire star system.

But the people out to get her have made one mistake. They've made her mad.

I was quite impressed with this book. It did remind me of Phule's Company by Robert Aspirin in many ways, but without the humor. I like the 'universe' Weber built his story around. But, the long descriptions of some of the more psuedo-technical aspects kind of turned me off (a little too much like trying to describe dilithium crystals or Jefferies Tubes for my liking). The interactions of the crew struck me as honest portrayals of how people in a hierarchical organization relate to one another. I really liked it. The eBook was formatted well with no obvious spelling or grammatical errors.

Honor's depth of character was well thought out and rendered. Found the technical description of the drive systems too heavy for my tiny brain, so I skipped it, though the physics involved seemed very credible. In all, a great read.

Great flow and action build up. As former military, I really appreciated the details in the fight scenes as entirely realistic. Too many novels try to color over details that make it possibly authentic. Could have done without the whole chapter on faster than light travel explanation. 9/10 recommend.
