Was fun to read, after watching the actual episode. Funny thing, in this book the Enterprise is heading for Cygnus 4, in the episode and in the hungarian version of the book she is going to Deneb 4, where the Farpoint station is located.

Just as the episode, "Encounter at Farpoint" is a fairly lackluster story but serves admirably as an introduction to the new Enterprise, her crew, and a recurring antagonist

About the author

David Gerrold is an award-winning author and screenwriter. He wrote numerous books, including the War Against the Chtorr series, the Star Wolf series, and the novelette The Martian Child, which won both Hugo and Nebula Awards and was later adapted into a film. He also wrote the script for the original Star Trek episode "The Trouble with Tribbles."
