This was the first book I have read from Daniel Silva, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Portrait of a Spy has compelling prose and great plot. For me this book was hard to put down. I cannot wait to read the rest of the books in the Gabriel Allon series.

I thought this story started a bit slowly, but once all of the pieces were in place, I found this book to be quite a page-turner.
