Boy, does Dana Mentink ever hit the ground running in this fourth book of her Desert Justice series! The reader barely has time to catch her breath between the suspense. Well done! My thanks to the publisher for a copy of this book.

When the bullets start flying, can Tony Ortega protect his niece and nephew? They are in WISTEC until Tony's brother testifies against a dark web criminal who sent an assassin to kill them! That right there tells you this book has a lot of action! Willow is courageous woman in Furnace Falls who happens to be helping Tony with the children! She never thought she'd be dragged into assassin's bullets and crazy people trying to kill her and the kids she is watching! She also never thought she'd fall for Tony in the middle of all this going on! I have loved Willow's family from the other books in the series and I'm happy that they show up to help out in this book! The Duke family is "all for one and one for all"! This was a wonderful book and I especially enjoyed Willow's developing courage throughout the book. She just kept getting stronger which was a delight! Tony was great too as the kids softened him, even though they weren't his own. The kids' dad, Ron, was a piece of work though!

Once again the author returns us to Death Valley for another installment of those fearless Dukes who just keep helping, protecting and generally staying safe. This wonderful story highlights many details about witness protection that might scare you a little. After all, protection is in the name! Tony is a widower with 2 small children, who require protection. While the action starts slowly, like a balloon floating into the air, it picks up really fast. Hang on to your seat, because you never know who you can trust. The plot twists will keep you guessing right till the end. Choices must be made, and some of them even gave me goosebumps! Don’t miss this 4th book in the Desert Justice series. I received a copy of this book through Love Inspired Suspense and Harlequin. These thoughts and impressions are my own and were in no way solicited.
