Could work bring on mayhem with deadly intent? Fresh from helping Liam save Lily’s elephant sanctuary in Liam’s Lily, North is more than ready for his next assignment. Definitely more than open to the possibilities of finding love, such as his friends and team mates have found. Yet, still having caution guide him. Next assignment… finds him in London, helping an esteemed colleague of Levi… Charles. This charming and worldly gentleman, you’d best not under estimate, no matter his age!! Yet it’s his feisty granddaughter, Nikki who has captured North’s attention unexpectedly… not only with her fiery personality, this lady is not afraid of voicing her concerns and opinions yet she’ll listen to reason also. It’s the anomaly in a work order that has managed to bring a whole load of intrigue, suspense and murderous intent to their lives. Dale delivers you a story that transports you from the beginning with beautiful glimpses of Lily’s elephant sanctuary, to the mayhem occurring in London to what comes next for the team. A well written story from start to finish, that also carried a tinge of sadness, that flowed throughout the main story plot. This was beautifully handled through the book. If you love page-turning mayhem, with a developing romance, and the intrigue of solving a mystery - then Dale Mayer delivers with NORTH’S NIKKI. When trouble really starts to develop and the intent to harm escalates - it will be up to North and his team mate, Anders, to come through and keep Nikki safe from deadly harm. Highly recommended reading for those that love military based heroes, love solving mysteries and the intricacies of beginnings and endings. This can definitely be read as a stand alone book but with any good series, there are recurring characters from previous books. If you haven’t already… you may want to start your journey at the beginning of the HEROES FOR HIRE series, for a more developed understanding of the character dynamics and a full appreciation of this series.

In this, the latest book in the SEALS OF HONOR series, it is great to reconnect with our many friends at Legendary Securities. Kudos to Ice for adding “possible partner” to the assignment criteria for Levi’s team! :D In North’s Nikki we see Charles Beckwith in his personal life after knowing him as a vital resource for assignments taking Levi’s team members to England, as well as reconnect with MI6’s Jonas Halpern. I love that every character in the SEALS OF HONOR and HEROES FOR HIRE series becomes family and continues to appear in the series. It’s like getting an exciting annual family news update. Nikki Beckwith’s rather tedious job of preparing and tracking paperwork for her company’s international imports procured for their various clients has hit a snag. What began as trying to reconcile what looks like a duplicate shipment of wine results in the discovery that the cases contain something other than wine and turns into a threatening situation for her. Nikki’s first instinct is to call her grandfather and head to his home for advice and safety. At first, she bristles at North’s and Anders’ arrival, but her almost immediate attraction to North and eventual sibling-like trust and respect for Anders wins her over to the benefits of having these two smart, strong men in Charles’s house for protection when he too is attacked by the thugs who threatened Nikki. It’s a book filled with twists and turns and a very cool look into the security measures built into Charles’s big house. Fascinating all around!

Terrific romantic suspense story! North and his partner, Anders, are sent by Legendary Security to the aid of the granddaughter of one of Levi's trusted friends. Nikki has found herself in a bit of trouble when she uncovers an extra shipment in the warehouse of the import business she works for. Working together with MI6, Nikki and North investigate every clue to find out who's behind the smuggling and the attacks to keep her quiet. The romance between North and Nikki blossoms naturally as they learn to trust each other and lean on each other's strengths. This story is not all hearts and flowers as the villains leave a heavy body count in their wake, but ultimately good triumphs over evil and justice is achieved. I loved the protective side of North toward Nikki, and it was refreshing to read a romance that was void of the usual relationship angst. Nikki is ready for a change since the company she worked for is going out of business, so her future with North is as smooth as glass. Her grandfather, Charles, was a delightful character, full of wisdom and nowhere near ready to be put out to pasture. His contributions to the investigation were essential, and his longevity in the intelligence business was deftly handled. I love all the books in this series, and this one is another winner. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
