About this ebook

Welcome to Hathaway House. Rehab Center. Safe Haven. Second chance at life and love.

Navy SEAL Denton Hamilton has checked himself into Hathaway House, hoping for a fraction of the results his friends have gotten at the rehab center. Now missing a rib, muscles and a portion of his stomach, as well as suffering from PTSD, Denton would be happy to have his physical self healed. He’s not so sure he’ll ever get his mental health back, and finding a woman who’ll have him now—as his friends have been lucky enough to do—is out of the question. Who would be willing to love a man like him?

Administrative Assistant Hannah Forsythe helps Dani run Hathaway House. A loner at heart, she’s drawn to Denton’s struggle and dismayed at his belief that no one could ever love him. But when an ill-advised observation she makes has unexpected consequences for Denton’s recovery, Hannah’s only choice is to separate herself from him to help him progress without her.

As time passes, Hannah wonders if her choice has cost her everything she’s ever wanted or whether Denton can work through his feelings to give them both their happy ending at Hathaway House.

It's a sweet story from Dale Mayer, not my favorite but I enjoyed it nonetheless. In this book we follow Denton's journey to recovery after bad injuries when he's a NAVY SEAL. There's a lot of struggles and inner turmoil either from Denton and Hannah, those are real, it's what also happens to many people, so definitely there's a lot of lessons that I can take here, I wished there's more sweet love though, I'm kinda missing those sweetness that make me smile and warm, and the hot and cold, the too much thinking stuff, kinda confusing and frustrating and a bit annoying for me, but overall I really enjoyed this book. If you're looking for sweet read, you better give this book a try.

This is the fourth book in the series. I love this series because the books hit you right in the heart and this one was no different. When I finished this book it left me feeling good and a smile on my face. It has an easy flow that instantly capture your attention. Denton is trying regain as much normal as he can after what he has been through and the Hathaway House is hope to achieving that. My heart goes out to Hannah because I can sympathize with her being a loner. That's me a lot of the time, but I love how far she comes in this book. What I also love about this series are the animals that are also recovering at the Hathaway House. They bring a lot of hope for the humans the are recovering. I would definitely recommend this one. I like the set up for the next book.

I really liked Denton and Hannah's characters as they were actually both vulnerable in different ways and could both learn from each other, it was also good that Brock and Cole make appearances so we could see how they were going too. We also get to know some of the others that work at the Hathaway House so we continue to slowly build up who the staff are. There were some parts that seem to have got drooped part way through the book like the cat who could become a therapy cat as well as Denton going from knowing no one for a job to having a friend who really wants him to work for him. I would love it if the books were a bit longer in this series so you could see things build up a bit more or see what happens in the weeks after they finally get together. In saying that these are the perfect books when you want a sweet and heartwarming read and don't have loads of time to read. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
