So I really enjoyed the description and the writing style of the book. The one thing that killed it for me was about 3rd of the way through an event that shook the story seemed so forced. #Spoiler Alert# I mean the fact that the kid in the bunker didn't notice the dog doing its business on the mat blows my mind. And if you saw the dog why take it outside. Plus you don't have a leash you don't know if you will lose it. And at that moment the bandits passed and noticed the kid, bull. It didn't flow well.

The book ends abruptly at what felt like the end of the first third of a full book. I don't like to be cynical, but this felt like planned a money grab. The first book in this series has no resolution, it simply ends on a cliff hanger. Which would be ok of the book had a story arc. Basically the main character meets some people and then meets some more. Nothing significant is resolved in this book. If you can buy a set if these books on sale, buy them, but individually, you might feel ripped off.

Seriously one of the worst books written. At every turn something is going wrong, it's driving me nuts and I'm not half way through it. At least give us a chapter where something negative doesn't happen.
