Help Your Child Understand and Manage Feeling Sad This board book by DK meant to help small children figure out and process their emotions. This one is all about feeling sad. The author briefly touches on what being sad means and some ways that cause it. Several pages are dedicated to figuring out how to deal with and get past it, like by crying or talking to someone. The book ends on a positive note, saying that sadness doesn't last forever, and the reader can still be happy as soon in the future. The book is simple and colorful, perfect for young children. If your child is having issues with sadness, it could be a superb way to start the discussion about it. You could use it to discuss what precisely is bothering your child and help figure out what soothes his or her sadness. I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
