“A satisfying artistic triumph.” —Chris Van Allsburg, author-illustrator of The Polar Express

A Metaphor for the Journey to Enlightenment? As a child, I adored this story. As an adult, I realized why. It seems like a perfect metaphor for the spiritual journey, depicting the power of the mind to influence the direction of our lives, acts of kindness (to mooses and porcupines, the search for ultimate peace (his bed), the Guru policeman, and nirvana in sleep as we release the ego (the crayon). I use this in my spiritual classes for adults and they love it!
