About this ebook

For fans of the Chronicles of Narnia comes the first book in the Wildwood Chronicles, the New York Times bestselling fantasy adventure series by Colin Meloy, lead singer of the Decemberists, and Carson Ellis, acclaimed illustrator of The Mysterious Benedict Society.

Wildwood captivates readers with the wonder and thrill of a secret world within the landscape of a modern city. It feels at once firmly steeped in the classics of children's literature and completely fresh. The story is told from multiple points of view, and the book features more than eighty illustrations, including six full-color plates, making this an absolutely gorgeous object.

In Wildwood, Prue and her friend Curtis uncover a secret world in the midst of violent upheaval—a world full of warring creatures, peaceable mystics, and powerful figures with the darkest intentions. And what begins as a rescue mission becomes something much greater as the two friends find themselves entwined in a struggle for the very freedom of this wilderness. A wilderness the locals call Wildwood.

The bestselling trilogy from Colin Meloy and Carson Ellis consists of Wildwood, Under Wildwood, and Wildwood Imperium.

I loved this book. It was probably one of the most best books I have read in my entire life. I loved the two different point of views of Prue and Curtis. The entire book in a whole new place past the binding. You will get sucked into the book right away. The thing you will seriously hope for in this book is to let the good guys win. Through out the entire book it was very long. It was full of suspense, wonders of the woods.

I'm currently reading it and can hardly put it down. I'm visiting Portland next week and am trying SO HARD not to finish Wildwood before I get there. I was delighted to find that Melroy sometimes sneaks in a subtle sense of humor. After having volunteered to cut back invasive ivy myself, the characters' disparaging comments on invasive ivy had me rolling with laughter. I think it's a fantastic book for young adults and adults alike. Yes, it's a bit spooky at times, but without being scary. It would make a fun read right before Halloween. Read it! And if you play an instrument, set the occasional character songs to music whenever you come to them. There's a fantastic shanty, and it's not every day you get to set a Decembrists' song to music yourself.

I do not have this book on my tablet, but I have the actual book. I am reading it in school. So far, it is amazing. I did not finish it yet so dont tell me what happens. This is the biggest book I have ever read. I mean 500 pages is just wow. But then again, I dont think 10 year olds are supposed tto read these books! Oh well. I think this book is awesome!♥
