***minor spoiler***The final few chapters of this book paint an amazing picture of the state of the galaxy after ROTJ one that even Aftermath an entire novel devoted to that era could not accomplish. I absolutely loved this book and it's characters, I can't wait to read Claudia Grey's next Star Wars novel. Having read Aftermath first it was interesting what details this filled in that were only hinted at in Aftermath, I really suggest anyone interested in canon read both.

One of the worst pieces of trash I have ever read. The characters are not relatable and the story is just awful. Of all the SW novels I have read over the last 20 years this one is in my top three worst. I hate to say this because I love almost all things SW related but this book was unreadable. I felt no connection to the characters. The writing style is some of the worst I have ever read and the story was bland and boring. I hope this author is NEVER asked to write another SW book.

This was great. It seems like there should be more works done on Imperial employees. This story added a layer of complexity to the Star Wars universe that makes the original series more immersive overall.
