I know this was a book about whitney houston but to get to whitney cissy had to tell a bit of her own story the back ground, I guess what bothered me about this book is cissy talked about all her kids and even her 2 ex husband's, but she never told or talked about herself her shortcomings, she did not make mention of anything she did wrong, well maybe her affair with John Houston but he got a divorce and married cissy but that was it, I guess she was perfect, I don't know maybe if she had told more about herself I would feel different

I read the book in 5 hours since I couldn't put it down. Just said to hear the state she was in in 2005. Just awful what drugs can do to you. I feel that if she and bobby never met each other both of their lives would have turned out differently. They depended on each other way to much. Sad story!

Cissy Houston is a Grammy Award-winning soul and gospel singer and the mother of the late superstar Whitney Houston. Lisa Dickey has been a freelance ghostwriter and book doctor since 1997. She has helped write and edit fourteen nonfiction books, including seven New York Times bestsellers.
