I have read most of chuck's books in a short binge-like period. Can't put them down. This is the first one I have a hard time picking up. There was one part that was so gruesome it left me actually wishing I could unread it. I have to respect that. But the rest is boring me to tears. And it's just sort of annoying when it isn't boring. This is maybe 3rd book in my life that I can say I'm not going to finish. I have a compulsion to finish every book I start. You have to really convince me not to finish it

This is probably the top 5 books that was so bad I kept reading in hopes it would get better. I ALWAYS finish a book. It took my all to power through this garbage. Usually I suffer from what I call "post book depression" but with this book. Just total disappointment.

I liked this book more than many books I've read by other authors, but compared to the other 8 or 9 books I've read by Chuck, I didn't love this one as much as most of the others. Still some interesting stories though. Includes "Guts" (or the story that made all those people faint).
