There's nothing overly complex about her food; her recipes are all about taste and enjoyable home cooking. Each chapter has a little bit of East and West. The chapters are: snacks and starters, comfort bowls, western classics, casual gathering food, side dishes, sweets, stocks sauces and vinaigrettes, and Christine's favorite recipes from her childhood. What makes this book unique are her stories around each dish / ingredient. The recipes are as unpretentious as she is, yet diverse. Highly recommended.
