One definite way to know if I really like a book is if it's constantly on my mind, even when I'm not reading it--which is what happened with this one! Likes: - Complex relationships - Complex human behavior is discussed, which was really interesting. Especially Cash's perspectives on the public; it made me think a lot about that topic. - Diversity of each of the characters' lives--they all had different and similar problems/situations, and I loved reading about them all. - I'm really happy about all the growth that happened with the characters. Dislikes: - This isn't exactly a dislike, because I wouldn't change this part if I was able to, but a certain section of the book was really sad. You'd know what I'm talking about if you read it. - The ending felt too abrupt for me (what is with all these contemporaries and their abruptness?) I turned the last page, expecting to see more, but I was greeted by the author's note instead. - Okay, I didn't exactly agree with some of the decisions that were made, but I can understand why they happened. I know that they're just mistakes, and that there are bigger, more important things in the book to consider. And those things are essentially what I put in my "Likes" section (see above). Overall, I love the relationships between the characters, the complexity with all their lives, and the deepness of it all. It doesn't matter to me that some of the events are a bit unrealistic; it's the journey and the growing that is most important, which I really appreciate. It certainly left a lasting impression.

This is one of the best books I have ever read and that is saying a lot seeing I have basically inhaled all the books at the library. It shows how fame really compared to what we think and the hardships it that come with your dreams coming true. I love how it brings light on people who are transgender and gay and the problems when you feel no one will exsept you for you. I also like that in this Chris does not hold back from useibg profanity and other language that I feel most authors are to scared to work with for fear people will not enjoy it. I cannot wait to read more of Chris Colfers books since this one is such a big hit!

I wish I'd read this book when I was a teenager. But I'm grateful for this book as a young adult. I feel like I am getting my childhood finally. Thank you, Chris.
