A new author for me and loved the story. Have now bought books 2 -4 in the series. Characters in story were believable and well fleshed out and the story kept me engaged right till the end, which I was not expecting. Main character, Grace is a strong, independent woman with hidden depths, but also failings and is trying to protect her son, Jake from his father and his influence. The author deals with the emotions realistically and you gradually get a greater understanding of the relationship between Grace and her ex husband, Nathan. It deals with a lot of current social issues, including domestic violence. Will worth reading and I know I am going to enjoy this series.

Absolutely fantastic. Can not put into words how good this book & the whole series is. So many twists. So very very clever!!!

Caz Finlay lives in Liverpool with her husband, two children, and a grumpy dog named Bert. A qualified probation officer, Caz has always been fascinated by the psychology of human behaviour and the reasons people do the things they do. However, it was the loss of her son in 2016 which prompted her to rediscover her love of writing and write her first novel, The Boss.
