I am a sucker for any Viking bodice rippers and this one did not disappoint. Yes the hero can be a jerk sometimes but men in that time truly thought women were property. One thing I think other reviewers misrepresented the hero for was that for over the last half of the book he is trying to protect Zarabeth despite her rightful anger at her situation. One thing that got a little tiresome was two villain female characters who have this neverending irrational hatred of the heroin. I felt weary for Zarabeth.

This book alone, started my addiction to historical romance. I've now read hundreds of romance novels since, and not one other story has ever stirred my emotions like this one. Thankfully this book is wonderful with not following the typical romance novel formula. It's a completely unique read.
